• Bachelor’s degree, with the required school related subjects at the compulsory levels. • Candidates must have passed at least one school approved specialisation subject at third year level (NQF 7) and one school approved subject at second year level. • English (home language or first additional language) AND Afrikaans or isiXhosa (home language or first additional language). • Passed Computer literacy (completion date not older than 8 years). • Applicants must have obtained a minimum average of 60% for their undergraduate degree. Subject Specialisation requirements: • Creative Arts: Applicants must have passed one of the components of Creative Arts at NQF7 in their undergraduate degree, with a minimum of 60%. These components include: – MUSIC (Playing an instrument, choral work, conducting). – VISUAL ARTS (Art, ceramics, design). – DRAMA (Drama, Acting, Film, Script writing). – DANCE (Dance, movement, physical theatre). • Economic Management Science: Applicants must have obtained a minimum average of 60% for the commerce modules completed in their undergraduate qualification (Accounting, Business Studies, Economics). Applicants must have completed at least one of the three Commerce specialisations at first year level, one up to second-year level and one up to third year level (NQF7). • English Home Language: Applicants must have completed English literature modules up to third year level. • Life Orientation: Applicants must have obtained a minimum average of 60% for the Psychology modules in their undergraduate degree. Applicants must have completed a combination of Psychology and either Sociology, Philosophy, Political Science, Human Movement Science, Labour Studies or Industrial Studies in their undergraduate degree, at least one of which should have been completed up to NQF7. • Life Science: Applicants must have completed two of the following subjects up to NQF7: Biological Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Physiology, Biology and/or Zoology, as well as Biology (Botany and Zoology) up to NQF6: • Music: Applicants must have completed a music-specific degree, which includes music theory/ composition up to NQF7. Applicants will be expected to complete an admissions test. • Natural Science: Applicants should have completed at least three of the following subjects up to NQF6 (second year level) – Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Physical Geography/ Environmental Sciences, and/or Physics. • Physical Science: Applicants must have completed Physics and Chemistry, one up to NQF6 and one up to NQF7. Please note: Any method subject(s) in the PGCE programme will only be offered if a minimum of 20 students registers for the method subject.
