Higher Certificate (Criminal Justice)

This programme aims to provide a vocational, industry-focused qualification that will equip students with the basic tools, knowledge and practical techniques required to perform their functions in terms of the Criminal Procedure Act and other specific legislation that may be enforced by officials in certain job categories. Please note that this qualification does not provide direct access into the LLB, LLB (extended), BCom (Law) or the BA (Law).

PGCE: SP & FET (Postgraduate Certificate in Education: Senior Phase and Further Education and Training)

The purpose of the Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) is to “cap” an undergraduate degree. The PGCE is a one-year professional teaching qualification. The PGCE: SP & FET aims to develop graduates as competent, professional teachers, committed to the enhancement of education in diverse high schools in South Africa and beyond. PGCE: SP & FET graduates will be equipped to teach: One subject at FET level (grade 10 to 12) and one subject at Senior Phase level (grade 7 to 9). Successful completion of the PGCE will allow candidate’s admission to the BEd Honours or Postgraduate Diploma in Education qualifications (NQF level 8).

BMus (General)

In addition to a core curriculum of music subjects, the BMus General allows candidates a wide scope of elective options, both within and beyond the field of music. Students will be able to present and communicate academic and/ or professional work effectively, catering for a variety of audiences by using a range of different media appropriate to the context. The qualification has been structured in such a manner as to promote transformation in music in the broadest sense. Learning programmes will contribute to the personal development of the individual student and to social and economic development by applying the Critical Cross-Field Outcomes.
