Graduates can pursue careers as optometrists providing primary eye care, specialising in eyes examination to identify and address a spectrum of visual related irregularities, such as vision defects, abnormalities related to injuty or ocular disease. Beyond general patient care, other areas include paediatric optometry, low vision or contact lens fitting. Optometrists can engage in research, academia, hospital settings or public health initiatives, private practise, corporate optometry and industry consulting.
